Tantalum Capacitor

Tantalum capacitors are processed from rare metal tantalum. Tantalum is ground into fine powder and then sintered with other media. At present, there are two processes: dry powder molding and wet powder molding. Because of the inherent nature of metal tantalum, tantalum capacitors are stable, do not change with the change of environment, and can achieve a large capacitance value. In some aspects, tantalum capacitors have some characteristics that ceramic capacitors cannot be compared. Therefore, tantalum capacitors are widely used in many circuits that cannot use ceramic capacitors.

At present, there are mainly tantalum capacitors of the following brands in the world: AVX, KEMET, Vishay and NEC, of which AVX and Vishay have the largest output and the best quality.
